Business Networks Built Right in Kansas City

A network built on cheap gear and guesswork costs more to maintain than it saves up front. CyteWorks designs and installs business networks on Ubiquiti's UniFi stack — enterprise-grade hardware with centralized management we can monitor, update, and troubleshoot remotely without a truck roll.

UniFi from edge to endpoint.

A properly built network is invisible — things just work. A badly built one becomes the excuse for every slow application, dropped call, and failed backup. CyteWorks has been wiring and configuring business networks in Kansas City since 2001. We use Ubiquiti UniFi for routing, switching, and wireless because it gives us enterprise reliability at a price that makes sense for small and mid-sized businesses.

We do the physical work too. Cabling, rack installation, patch panels, and cleanup of existing wiring all happen in-house. Clean physical infrastructure is the foundation for everything else.

Firewalls & Security Gateway

UniFi Dream Machine Pro or dedicated gateway. VLAN segmentation, IDS/IPS, traffic rules, and guest network isolation. Your business data stays separate from everything else.

Managed Switching

UniFi PoE switches sized for your environment. Proper VLAN tagging, port security, and PoE budget planning for cameras, phones, and access points.

Enterprise Wireless

Access points ceiling- or wall-mounted, properly channeled, and centrally managed. No consumer routers pretending to be business equipment.

Server Builds & Rack Work

Physical server installations, rack cabling, cable management, and structured wiring. We do the physical work right so the logical configuration is clean.

Network Assessments

We document what you have, identify gaps in coverage and security, and give you a plain-language report on what is worth keeping and what needs to go.

Remote Monitoring & Management

All UniFi devices report to our management platform. We see outages, firmware alerts, and anomalies before your team notices anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you use Ubiquiti/UniFi instead of Cisco or Meraki?
UniFi gives us enterprise-grade reliability, centralized cloud or local management, and hardware costs that do not require a six-figure capital budget. For most Kansas City businesses with 5 to 150 employees, it is the right fit. We can also work with Cisco and Meraki infrastructure if you already have it.
Can you take over a network that was not built by you?
Yes. We start with a documentation and assessment pass to understand what exists, identify the gaps, and develop a plan. Sometimes that means incremental improvements; sometimes a full replacement is the right answer. We will tell you which honestly before any work begins.
Do you handle physical cabling and wiring?
Yes. Structured cabling, patch panels, rack installation, and cleanup of existing wiring are all services we provide. We do not subcontract the physical work. Clean cabling is the foundation for everything else — we take it seriously.
What does a network assessment include?
We map your existing equipment, document your VLAN and IP addressing, identify security gaps and single points of failure, and assess wireless coverage. You get a plain-language summary with prioritized recommendations — not a 40-page report designed to justify a huge project.
