Is this a monitored alarm system?
No, and we want to be clear about it. These are self-monitored systems. Alerts reach you and your staff through the app, and sirens sound on site, but there is no central station behind them and they do not dispatch police or fire. CyteWorks has not deployed central-station reporting, so we are not going to sell it as though we had. If monitored dispatch is a requirement for your insurance or your peace of mind, tell us and we will say so plainly rather than talk you into something else.
What can the sensors actually detect?
Glass break, motion, door and window opening, temperature, humidity, ambient light, and water leaks, depending on which sensors you deploy. The glass break sensor is rated for plate, tempered, laminated, coated, obscured, and wired glass within a defined pane size and thickness range, so we check your actual windows against that specification rather than assuming it covers them.
Can you monitor our walk-in freezers?
Yes, and we already do. A Kansas City food business runs environmental sensors on its meat freezers through us, alerting on temperature before product is at risk. The same approach works for coolers, server rooms, and anywhere a few degrees of drift gets expensive.
Do the sensors need cabling?
Mostly not. The intrusion and environmental sensors are wireless and battery powered with multi-year battery life, and environmental sensors are rated for up to six years. They report to a gateway on your network, which makes them practical to retrofit into an existing building without pulling cable to every window and freezer.
