Security Camera Installation for Kansas City Businesses

CyteWorks installs and manages UniFi Protect camera systems for Kansas City businesses, indoors and out. Footage records to a recorder in your building rather than a vendor cloud, and there are no per-camera license fees. We run the cable, mount the cameras, and support the system ourselves.

Cameras that record on your hardware, not someone else’s.

Most business camera quotes arrive with a monthly bill attached: per-camera licensing, a cloud storage tier, or an AI add-on. UniFi Protect does not work that way. Recording, storage, and AI analysis all happen on a network video recorder in your building. Ubiquiti puts it plainly in its own documentation: run 4 cameras or 4,000, licensing is still $0.

CyteWorks has installed indoor and outdoor camera systems for Kansas City businesses, and we do the physical work ourselves — mounting, cabling, conduit, and configuration. Because the cameras run on the same UniFi platform as your switches and wireless, there is one dashboard and one team behind the whole system.

Indoor & Outdoor Coverage

Dome, turret, bullet, compact, and PTZ cameras chosen for the space and the light. We walk the building, plan the angles, and run the cable, including outdoor runs and conduit.

Recording Stays On Site

Video records to a UniFi network video recorder in your building. Your footage lives on your hardware, under your control, with no vendor cloud holding the only copy.

No Licensing or Subscription Fees

Ubiquiti charges no per-camera license and no recording subscription, whether you run 4 cameras or 4,000. Advanced AI capability, if you want it, is a one-time hardware purchase rather than a monthly bill.

Person & Vehicle Detection Built In

Current UniFi cameras detect people and vehicles on the camera itself, with no add-on hardware and no extra cost, so alerts mean something instead of firing at every shadow and passing headlight.

License Plate & Face Recognition

Available where you need it. G6 and AI-series cameras handle license plate and face recognition natively; older G4 and G5 cameras need an AI Port or AI Key accessory. We tell you which applies before you buy anything.

Remote Viewing & Health Monitoring

View live and recorded video from your phone or a browser with no subscription. We also watch system health, because an offline camera or a full drive is something we should catch before you do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do your camera systems require a monthly subscription?
No. UniFi Protect records to a network video recorder on your premises, and Ubiquiti charges no per-camera licensing fee and no recording subscription, whether you run 4 cameras or 4,000. Advanced AI features are a one-time hardware purchase rather than a recurring cost. If you later choose to archive copies offsite, Protect sends them to a destination you already own, such as your Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or a NAS, so any storage cost sits with that provider rather than with us or Ubiquiti.
Where is my video actually stored, and who can see it?
Recordings are stored on the recorder in your building. When you view remotely, UniFi connects your phone or browser directly to that recorder whenever your network allows, and falls back to Ubiquiti’s own encrypted relay only when a direct connection is not possible. Either way the recordings themselves stay on your hardware. We do not upload your footage to a third-party video platform.
Which cameras do I need to read license plates?
License plate recognition runs natively on G6 and AI-series cameras with no accessory required, 360-degree models excepted. If you already have G4 or G5 cameras, plate and face recognition need an AI Port for real-time results or an AI Key for queued processing. Plate capture also depends heavily on mounting angle, distance, and lighting, so we would rather assess the site than sell you a camera that cannot see what you need it to see.
Do you install the cameras and cabling yourselves?
Yes. CyteWorks handles mounting, cabling, conduit, and configuration. We do not subcontract the physical work. If something is wrong with the install, the people who fix it are the people who did it.
